Travelling from Tallinn – How to Get to Other Cities

If you’re planning to explore more of Estonia (or even visit Finland or Latvia) during your trip, here’s a quick guide on the best ways to travel from Tallinn.

🚢 From Tallinn to Helsinki

The best way to travel from Tallinn to Helsinki is by ferry.
While flying only takes about 30 minutes in the air, when you add time for airport security checks and travel to and from the airports, it actually takes much longer.
Ferries are fast, easy, and bring you close to the city center of Helsinki. The journey by ferry usually takes around 2–2.5 hours.
There are a few ferry companies operating between Tallinn and Helsinki, and you can see all available options in one place at laevapiletid.ee.

In Tallinn there are 2 ferry terminals, but they are located within 10 minute walk from each other: A-terminal for Viking Line and Eckero Line and D-terminal for Tallink.
