I live in Estonia and love exploring the country, discovering new places and sharing what makes Estonia special.
Travel to Estonia was created to help visitors plan their trips with practical local advice, first-hand recommendations and useful information that can sometimes be difficult to find in one place.
Estonia is much more than Tallinn Old Town. There are islands, forests, bogs, seaside towns, small villages, national parks and plenty of places that many visitors never get to see.
My goal is to help you discover more of them.
Why I Created Travel to Estonia
When people start planning a trip to Estonia, they usually find plenty of lists telling them what the main attractions are.
But the practical questions are often more difficult.
Where is the best area to stay in Tallinn?
How do you get from Tallinn Airport to the city centre?
Is it worth renting a car?
Where can you park?
Which day trips can you do without a car?
What is Estonia really like in winter?
Which places are worth visiting if you have only three or five days?
These are the kinds of questions I want Travel to Estonia to answer.
Rather than simply listing attractions, I try to explain how things actually work and what I would recommend to someone visiting Estonia for the first time.
A Local Perspective
Living in Estonia gives me the opportunity to explore places throughout the year rather than seeing them during a single short visit.
Seasons make a huge difference here.
A destination that feels completely different during long summer evenings can become quiet, snowy and atmospheric in winter. Some places are perfect for a summer road trip, while others are at their best during autumn or around Christmas.

The aim is not to make every destination or attraction sound perfect.
Some places are excellent for a first visit. Others make more sense if you have extra time, a car or a particular interest.
I want the recommendations on this site to be useful enough that I would comfortably give the same advice to friends visiting Estonia.

Exploring Estonia
One of the things I enjoy most about Estonia is how quickly the surroundings can change.
You can spend the morning walking through medieval Tallinn, drive through forests and bogs in the afternoon, and end the day beside the Baltic Sea.
There are also many places that receive much less international attention than Tallinn but are absolutely worth exploring.
I continue travelling around Estonia, revisiting familiar places and discovering new ones, and I’ll keep adding what I learn to this site.
